Arunachal Pradesh Assembly Election 2024: Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister Pema Khandu is likely to win unopposed from Mukto assembly seat. With this, he will join the list of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) candidates who won unopposed in the state. Apart from the CM, 4 more candidates of BJP are expected to win unopposed.
In Arunachal Pradesh, voting is to be held on April 19 for two Lok Sabha seats as well as 60 assembly seats. According to the information, candidates of opposition parties have not filed nomination in many major districts including Papum Pare, due to which the victory of the ruling party is considered certain. Meanwhile, Ratu Techi from Sagali has emerged as another major contender to win unopposed.
Opposition candidates did not file nomination
As no opposition candidate has filed nomination before the deadline, BJP is set for a clean sweep in five constituencies including Mukto and Sagli. Apart from this, Hedge Appa did not face any opposition from Ziro of Subansiri district, which has further strengthened the position of BJP.
A total of 5 BJP candidates will win unopposed
Till the latest information, a total of 5 BJP candidates are winning unopposed in the state, which include Jikke Tako from Tali, Nyato Dukom from Taliha, Ratu Techi from Sagali and Muchu Mithi from Roing assembly constituencies.
Pema Khandu’s unopposed victory is yet to be officially confirmed.
Former Chief Minister Nabam Tuki, who served as MLA from Sagali for 30 years, chose to contest the parliamentary elections this time and filed his nomination from Aalo. However, Pema Khandu’s unopposed victory in Arunachal Pradesh is yet to be officially confirmed. Khandu had also won this seat in the 2014 and 2019 assembly elections.
